In 2008, I produced this award winning short film, written by actor and screenwriter Joey Pate. The film – which presents a day-in-the-life look at a down on his luck clown – was shot in and around Los Angeles over the course of a long weekend, on a budget of about $3,000. Giving the finger to Hollywood’s “Golden Rule for First Time Producers and Low Budget Productions,” I also cast a diva* (actress Danielle Fishel – “Topanga” from Boy Meets World and current host of The Dish), a Chihuahua, a rabbit, and a herd of small children.

* For the record, Danielle was a DOLL; arriving early for a midnight call time, shooting into the wee morning hours, and even returning the designer bag that was part of her wardrobe…
