“Once it’s a verb it’s not a mystery. It’s an action. It’s not distant and it’s not tomorrow. It’s in every choice, in every muscle and in every single day.”
This fall I spent 6 weeks with my twin sister on a road trip through the American Southwest; waking for the sunrise, hiking through the backcountry, navigating by map and falling asleep every day tired and satisfied. Created this long-haul video project from 80 GB of raw video footage. It’s meant to describe my inchoate philosophy of happiness, developed through transformative experiences of daily gratitude, intentional choices and travel.
Notes to myself: Get a gimbal. Clean the lens. Get more landscape shots. Check audio. Control white balance. Get secondary shots at different angles. Plan story.
Shot with a Canon 6D and GoPro HERO4, edited with Adobe Premiere Pro CC and Audition CC. Colour grading adapted from IWLTBAP. Music by JP from Jingle Punks.
Thanks to Walt Radda for assistance with audio recording.
