Hyun & Rob made this little film for the Stomp Drugs 48hour Film Festival. Enjoy!
We had 48 hours to come up with a concept, shoot, edit, and finish this piece. Not to mention we had to shoot a wedding during that period too! It was a really fun challenge and a different kind of shoot for us.
The lenses we used were:
Canon 50mm 1.8 (Still think it's a great lens for certain situations)
Sigma 30mm 1.4
Canon 85mm 1.8
Canon 70-200mm 2.8 IS
The image stabilizer on the 70-200 allowed us to shoot handheld inside the car. The image stabilizer helps remove the high frequency shakes that you see in SLR footage and gives a more natural, flowing motion to your handheld shots. The other handheld shots of Sahn were shot on the 30mm. A wider lens like the 30mm can also help reduce high frequency shakes. We try to shoot handheld sparingly and always with a purpose. Our purpose in this case was the fact that we were trying to produce a "home movie" feeling with the footage of Sahn. We actually went through the car wash about six times on two different days in order to get the shots we were looking for. The guys at the car wash must have thought we were crazy.
