With obesity rising globally and sugar consumption at an unparalleled level, diabetes is a major global health problem. Stone Ke and Irfan Hrelja observed the viabilities of polyphenol ligands in restricting the amyloidosis identifiable in numerous diseases, including diabetes. They focused their research in studying EGCG amyloidosis restriction, especially in the less understood domain of the physical properties of hIAPP aggregation.
