“On Psychics & Senses,” by Vivian Hua (華婷婷)
Psychic phenomena is undeniably open to subjective interpretation, and its modus operandi can be quite at odds with scientific rigor, which asserts that reality must be replicable in order to be considered “real.” Rather than trying to prove or disprove psychic activity, this talk will use a compilation of documentary footage to zero in on common themes, philosophies, and issues which affect an intuitive community that — whether the larger world is on board or not — very much believes themselves and their work to be “real.”
Vivian Hua (華婷婷) is an interdisciplinary artist, writer, and curator who, in true Sagittarius fashion, is a nomad floating between every major city from LA to Seattle. She is fascinated by synthesizing divergent styles, groups, and schools of thought, and strongly believes that art can positively transform the self and society.
