“What reconciles me to my own death more than anything else is the image of a place: a place where your bones and mine are buried, thrown, uncovered, together.” —John Berger
MFA Art Writing presents an evening of readings by faculty, students, and alumni in tribute to John Berger (November 5, 1926 – January 2, 2017), in addition to personal testimonies by those who knew him.
We celebrate what he meant to us: a great storyteller and peerless critic, whose lifework took the shape of a pocket of resistance.
Speakers in order of appearance:
David Levi Strauss
