Ran Gavrieli is an entrepreneur, sexual health expert, and scholar pursuing a doctorate in gender studies at Tel Aviv University under the supervision of Prof. Catharine A. Mackinnon (Harvard Law School, University of Michigan at Ann-Arbor). To promote an understanding of and appreciation for gender equality and “emotionally safe sex,” Mr. Gavrieli exposes pornography use as unjust and unhealthy, connecting the dots between porn, prostitution and women-trafficking. He offers education on love, intimacy, and relationships as an alternative path to fulfilled sexuality, in over 400 talks a year. Diverse experience as a combat soldier and growing up in a household governed by addiction and poverty, Gavrieli is very much committed to advocate for minorities and underprivileged communities on a political-strategic level, seeing society as a whole accountable for the general well-being. Gavrieli is a renowned activist, speaker and mentor across the globe. His TEDx talk “Why I Stopped Watching Porn” (youtube.com/watch?v=gRJ_QfP2mhU) has been viewed by more than 9 million people, making his talk the most viewed anti-porn and anti-trafficking video in the world.
