The family of Douglas Zerby, the ANSWER Coalition and other groups and individuals marched from Bixby Park to the Long Beach Police Department headquarters on Saturday, Feb. 12 to demand justice for Zerby and all victims of police violence.
Douglas Zerby was killed in cold blood by Long Beach Police Department officers on Dec. 12. The police shot him 12 times without any warning. Zerby was not a criminal. He was an innocent victim of brutal police violence. Now, two months later, the City still has done nothing. Mayor Bob Foster and City Council members would like to sweep the issue under the rug. We can’t let that happen.
Police violence is an epidemic. Working and poor people are being killed and abused in Long Beach and across the country. From Oscar Grant to Manuel Jamines to Roketi Sue to Douglas Zerby, the police must be held accountable for their crimes against our communities.
End police violence in Long Beach and beyond!
Justice for Douglas Zerby!
Arrest the LBPD officers responsible for his killing!
