Greetings from our studio in the Highlands of Scotland, from where Eileen and I send you our best wishes for 2017 expressed in a ‘wee’ little animated card.
As many folk know, a little over twenty years ago we embarked on the first phase of a special project, Book 1 in my ‘Elphen Chronicles’. Now, after working intensely over the past five years on a substantial collection of large oil paintings, we are looking forward to sharing the second phase of this project, which centres on Book 2.
All will be gradually revealed over the coming months through our occasional newsletter and FB etc.
Meanwhile, do take care and thankyou for watching. If you are wondering about our online tutorials, be assured, we have made a commitment to continue with these and have no current plans to drop them. It is just that my Fine Art work continues to be concentrated on my Elphen Chronicles.
We also wish to extend our grateful thanks to Sunita Gahir, who, as our Design Director & Co-Producer is enabling us to proceed with this project and is responsible for the new look for the Elphen Chronicles.
And finally, a special thankyou to the talented Musician and Composer Liza Mulholland, who generously gave permission for her beautiful piece ‘Cadal Sàmhach’ – Track 3 on her solo CD Fine’n’Rosy.

Liza’s own word from her CD sleeve notes.
“Is there anything more beautiful for a new parent than to gaze on your sleeping child? To study your baby’s face, watch their little movements and the gentle whisper of their breath, knowing they are safe, secure and at restful ease; in such moments all seems well with the world. This was how I felt when my son, Roddy, was small, and loved those quiet times when I could simply watch him as he slept – indeed I still do! This is a tune I wrote for him and those precious, dream-like, end-of-day moments.”
Original track recorded in Gaelic – translating as follows:-
Quiet sleep, tranquil sleep
Dreams without dread
Quiet sleep, tranquil sleep
Let your head down, my babe.
