Meet Author and Film Director, Christina Stevens:
Come take an epic journey into the Kingdom of Bhutan
Our guest speaker, Australian born filmmaker Christina Stevens is currently working on an IMAX 3D movie about the mysteries surrounding the visionary kingdom of Bhutan.
Bhutan is nestled way up in the heart of the mighty Himalayas, between two of the most populated nations on earth, India and China. Guided by the wisdom of philosopher Kings and beautiful Queens, it is a magical land whose people have for centuries peacefully gone about life respecting their oneness with all living things; their love for each other and for the earth that sustains us all. Does this sound like a fairytale? Find out as we join Christina on her journey into Bhutan. You may be surprised, shocked and enlightened by the Bhutanese ancient values and futuristic vision of Gross National Happiness and how it could impact your world.
Christina has won the coveted Gold Lion statue from the Venice Film Festival as well as numerous New York Art Director’s and International Broadcasting Awards, including one for her series, “Voices from the Heart” featuring Nobel Peace Prize winners, the Dalai Lama and Mother Teresa. Christina serves on the Special Projects Committee of the Directors Guild of America and on the Board of Directors of Ted Turner’s Captain Planet Foundation, whose mission is to empower the world’s youth to work as environmental stewards.
Christina has raised Andalusian horses and is a licensed pilot. Flying is one of her hobbies and her love of antique planes has brought her invitations from the U.S. Government to fly display, preceding the amazing Blue Angels.
