Rolando Santana’s Spring Summer 2011 Collection was deeply inspired by modern Mexican architect, Luis Barragán, who is best known for his use of color and textural contrast. For his collection, Santana uses a variety of neutral colored textured fabrics, playing with light silk burnouts, structured yet soft jacquards, fine delicate cotton fabrics and soft leathers. Throughout Santana’s collection, all the dresses accentuate the feminine and sophisticated flair of a modern woman, for pieces that are not to live without. Combining ready to wear designs with comfortable natural fibers such as cotton and silk, Santana provides women the ultimate perfection between both worlds of being stand out beautiful and sophisticated. “One of my favorite pieces from the collection is the finale dress, which is made from an unexpected light weight cotton, manipulating the fabric into tiny ruffles and creating volume and structure for the perfect spring evening,” says an excited Santana as he already dreams about his next collection.
