Mitch Albom was one of the speakers at the town hall meeting hosted by Maxsar studios in Southfield MI to discuss the recent cap on the Michigan Tax Incentive by republican governor Rick Snyder. The Michigan Tax Incentives were geared towards bringing entertainment and film productions to the state of Michigan by offering tax breaks with the prevision that companies had to hire a certain amount of Michigan labor and spend money in Michigan. The Tax Incentives brought over 300+ million dollars to the state in 2010. Snyder's recent proposal to cap the incentives at 25 million have scared away such companies as Marvel who had planned to film "The Avengers" in Michigan. Mitch Albom talks to all the students currently in or graduating from CCS who are now worried that they might have to find work in other states instead of being able to work, produce, and pay taxes in Michigan.
