“In order to exclude chaos, I have decided to create mathematical formulas to enforce order into my daily routines, such as eating a strawberry jam sandwich for breakfast. Putting the formula into practice, and upon analysis of the following arithmetical progression I conclude that the perfect method to eat the sandwich is cutting it into 4 parts, then into 2,4,6 and 8 pieces respectively. The arithmetical progression explains that number 2, 4, 6 and 8 are the only numbers that reappear in a sequence of possibilities inside a week time, and for that reason they show a prefect progression, in which the ratio is 2.” (script from the video Breakfast Manifesto)
In Breakfast Manifesto, a video and series of drawings, I apply an arithmetical formula to erase chaos from daily routines. It can be understood as an attempt to standardise consumption, to align my behaviour with axiomatic or arithmetical predictability.
