Low light comparison test between Sony F3 and canon 5D Mark II. Sony F3 with a Nikon 80-200 f2.8 lens and the Canon 5D Mark II with a Canon 70-200 IS f2.8 lens. Both set at f2.8, 1/60th shutter. Im currently on assignment in Japan so this was done in 10 minutes through a hotel window. Neither camera was white balanced and the 5D was on a make shift tripod.
At ISO 1600 and 3200 the F3 was too bright and had to be stopped down to f4. The F3's low light ability can be further enhanced by taking the shutter out completely.
Sony F3 vision was recorded on a SxS card at 35mb/s and the Canon 5D vision was converted into Apple ProRes. 422.
I apologize as i didn't do the test of the F3 at ISO 6400 (18DB)
Both cameras were on the standard picture profiles.
