Sloppy Seconds presents a reimagining of food and eroticism in the age of viral slime videos and ASMR.
During their beginnings, Jelly Mongerers Bompas and Parr were surprised to receive unexpected requests to cater for ‘Splosh Parties’; a seamy scene were people get turned on by sitting in puddles of baked beans and cream. Fast forward nearly a decade and this conversation sparks a story and collaboration with artist and director Em Cole.
The similarities between the lists appeals of the fetish and the current online phenomenon of slime videos provided the inspiration for the film. Why is one a shushed taboo but the other a pop culture hit with pre- teens? Sloppy Seconds presents a fresh perspective on the weird wonders of human sexuality. Dive into a cheeky wonderland of sensory delight.
Sloppy Seconds is a story that embodies opening our minds to forms of pleasure. Bompas & Parr and Cole’s vision for the film was to take a positive perspective on sexual fetishes that are often portrayed as negative. Instead a narrative was written that liberates the unsuspecting mind, and celebrates the colourful quirks of being human.
