My Kinetic on the Beacon. My brother David shot this footage in February 2017. Greg Lewis and Stuart Grey also feature at the end 'having a laugh'. This particular model is ~2.3m span and ~2.1kg. It has RDS (Rotary Drive System) wing servos and an 8% thick Thierry Platon profile. It is *very* quiet in the air because of it.
I never fly aerobatics with ballast and this model has no provision for it. If you need ballast then it's probably too windy for nice aerobatics. For stronger winds, a thin symmetrical section and (invisible linkage) RDS helps so much... and that's exactly what this model has.
This is the first flight using my FrSky Horus radio. I am using a Multiplex XJT module and an old Multiplex 7 channel receiver. The flashing light on the underside is a gimmick, it is a 10watt Cree l.e.d. driven from a small, separate 1S/0.95mAh LiPo. The flash rate is adjustable from the Horus. The LED cannot be on for longer than a second because it gets seriously hot, even with its tiny heatsink, and would burn out.
