One of the Hunter's best known beaches is Nobbys Beach, beloved for its view of the famous lighthouse-topped island-come-breakwall, and its mobs of seagulls.
It's also the beach where the Pasha Bulka ship ran aground during the June Long Weekend storms of 2007, just a couple of hundred metres from this spot, making news around the world.
They reckon more people have snapped this landmark while the ship was aground than at any other time in its history - Google it if you don't believe me.
There's a monument to the Pasha Bulka, just out of this shot; you should come there one day and see it, have a sit down and enjoy the view.
Like most beaches along the east coast of Australia there's a kiosk offering milkshakes and hot chips - just watch out for the publicity seeking birds!
