An outgrowth of the original eight-tentacled aerial Ropetopus design, Butterpillar & Koo duet blooms with sixteen extra-long ropes. Streaming out from the highest central peak, they continue radiating beyond the stage in a curving mandala. The two stacked figures sheltered inside must find their way up, around, and into the height of its source. Created and performed by Nehara Kalev and Glenn Easley. Aerial set design and soundweave collage by Nehara Kalev and Glenn Easley. Nine-minute performances at Fort Mason Center, San Francisco by invitation from Joanna Haigood for the Aerial Arts Festival. August 2016.
