Being a better person, provider, parent, spouse or partner, comes down to making sure you take care of yourself. Men in particular have resistance to “self-care.” A lot of men think it sounds feminine so they think it isn’t for them. Growing up, men were told to “get tough,” “be a man,” “figure it out,” and “just work”. Times have changed. These days, in order to stay sane, clear-headed, and strong we actually have to carve out time to raise the bar on our habits and on life. We also need to connect with others in a genuine way. So many of us feel disconnected or isolated, so “connection” with friends you trust can be a great way to pull you out of your funk.
