Salzburg to Verona - Crossing the Alps north to south

Fabien Carré

We went through Germany, Austria and Italy during a 18 days trek in summer 2016 crossing the Alps, from Salzburg to Verona. We took a few buses and trains along the way. Weather-wise, we had everything, we started with rain, then had fog and a lot of clouds, sun, snow, hail…

In those almost 3 weeks, we ascended the equivalent of Everest (about 8800 m) and we descended the equivalent of the Mariana Trench (about 11,000 m).

Our maximum altitude was in Austria, at Glorer Hütte (2,642 m).

Shot with Panasonic GH4, with Olympus M.Zuiko ED 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO, Panasonic Lumix G 42,5 mm f/1.7, Panasonic 14-140mm f/4.0-5.8 and with Pilotfly H2.

Edited, composited and color graded with Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom and Photoshop CC 2017.

Music: Himmelsrandt - VI, with the kind authorization of Peter Honsalek.
