Fifth Borough Films presents "My Brother's Keeper," a 30-minute film about twin Puerto Rican brothers Miguel and Danny Perez.
Danny and Miguel grew up in the Bronx and do everything together — except school. Separated by school systems, Danny attends a regular, and failing, public school, while Miguel attends Eagle Academy, an all-boys, uniform-enforced school designed for African-American and Latino students. It's been their lifelong dream to attend college together — but Danny and Miguel are on very different paths. Danny recently had a baby boy with his girlfriend, while Miguel is planning to travel to South America this summer to study abroad and perform humanitarian work.
My Brother's Keeper will follow these two brothers through their senior year of high school and examine how their two different school systems are affecting their current trajectory and plans after graduation.
