Audiovisual document of Immanence Front's first public performance on the 4th of March, 2017 at Pall Mall in Hyde Park, Chicago IL. In disembodied disemboweled disarticulated Bartosz Gal's platform sculpture raises domestic exercise from the ground-marking the stage it creates from the anonymity of unmarked space. The platform's gesture of distinction requires the capture and severance of an object from its environment, articulating both in attendee's contours of attention and movement through space. A similar operation is performed audio-visually, where the body's intense physical activity (in this case two and a half hours of cardiovascular exercise) forms an audiovisual ground on which apparatuses of capture, cutting, and transformation inflict their deformations. As such, the document is itself severed from the event it documents. Thanks to Rodrigo Constanzo for his cut glove live sampler/processor and Chris Kimmons who provided further signal processing. Also featured in the video are visual works of Gal, Benjamin Dimock, and Jonathan Ascolese.
