[Brief]
This animated film is inspired by sports athletes and their internal conflict of constantly facing themselves and fighting against themselves to push their boundaries. "Animation Portrait," composed of animations by four artists, illustrates this concept through a portrait of one man facing his physical and mental state on the brink of a breakdown.
This film was created as the first series of self-produced projects fully funded by Spoon Inc., a production company in Japan working mainly on client-ordered films. It is their attempt of creating a platform for creators in the industry to express themselves freely and to further push their artistic talents, while at the same time using the medium of film to give out a positive and encouraging message to a wide range of viewers.
