“Son Of A Gun”, the HELP I'm Free/ Goodwood prison production 2016 under “The Making Of A Criminal” poster.
The Son of a Gun is a determined testimony of 9 inmates’ that are on their way out after many years in prison. The play tells the story about “The One” who is walking through his dreams of the upcoming future, where he finds himself left with two choices: Going back to he’s old life, with drugs, gangsterism and a brotherhood that immediately would accept him, or the un-walked path that will lead him to a future where he has to face his deepest fears.
The play is based on the consequences of choices and the story is powered by some of the darkest questions a person can ask themselves: Who are we when everything is at stake, and how deep are we willing to go to see the result of who we have become? The play is a testimony about the societies influence over generations, where the question is not what happened, but why.
The production is a collaboration between HELP I'M FREE - NICRO - VARDETEATERET - ARTSCAPE THEATER - FREDSKORPSET and GOODWOOD CORRECTIONAL SERVICE
