Artistic Director of dOCUMENTA (13), Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev speaks about her curatorial practice and plans for dOCUMENTA (13) as part of the International Lecture Series of The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery in Toronto, Canada.
Prior to her appointment as Artistic Director of dOCUMENTA (13), which will take place from June to September 2012 in Kassel, Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev was the Chief Curator at the Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art in Turin from 2002 to 2008 and the Artistic Director for the 16th Biennale of Sydney (2008). From 1999 to 2001 she was Senior Curator of Exhibitions at PS1, New York. Christov-Bakargiev is also an accomplished writer with a background in both literature and the history of art.
