I feel incredibly privileged to have been able to visit Maatsuyker Island off of Tasmania's Southwest Wilderness World Heritage Area on a working bee with FOMI - Friends of Maatsuyker Island, who, in combination with Tasmania Parks & Wildlife Service and the Maatsuyker Island volunteer caretakers do such an amazing job of preserving, protecting and restoring this magical little rock in the Southern Ocean. Australia's most southerly light at 43 degrees 39.5' S, Maatsuyker is renown for it's wild weather, but we were fortunate to have perfect conditions, not only for our work, but also to be rewarded with some spectacular auroras. Thanks FOMI & Parks for all the fun times.
