Finding John Brown: The Renewal

The modern restoration of the original marble bust of abolitionist John Brown sculpted by Edward Augustus Brackett. The 1860 masterpiece had been hidden away in storage of Tufts’ art collection, its nose was broken off and its identity unknown for over half a century, until its recent rediscovery.
