One thing we know for certain is that its wet in Fitzroy Crossing. But the other night we weren't sure how wet, so we jumped in old Betty (the truck) and went cruising for flood waters under a dramatic pink-orange setting sun. We got to the outskirts of town and Pippa, who was driving, said, 'Is that water on the road?'. And sure enough it was. In we went, and up it came. Note to our mothers: 'Don't worry, we don't do this sort of thing all the time, and we recognised when it was time to turn back'.
