This short documentary is a look at Eton Tsuno’s road to the 2011 National US Barista Championship Brewers Cup in Houston Texas.
After a five year hiatus from barista competition he is beginning a new journey, to teach a new found love for simplicity. The highest quality cup of coffee can be achieved at the counter of a café without excessive apparatus.
Eton was called the “coffee savant” when he was hired to be the brainchild of LAMILL Coffee Boutique in Silver Lake and was featured in the LA Weekly with his coffee being named one of the “10 Best Dishes of 2008” by Jonathan Gold.
Eton Tsuno is the Chief Roaster and Buyer at Temple Coffee in Sacramento, CA. He is a USBC Espresso National Semi-Finalist and is working on his current project IOTA coffee in Los Angeles. He started his career in coffee at the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf at the age of 16. He later owned and operated Café Organica in San Francisco and in 2007 moved back to Los Angeles to mentor with Ric Rhinehart, executive director of SCAA.
