This video looks into the Malagasy shark fishery, which has declined dramatically in recent years. The decline in this fishery and fish stocks in general are having major implications on the lives of local fishing communities as well as the marine ecosystem. The film looks at the reason for this decline and what can be done to prevent the collapse of shark populations in the region. The film is in Vezo with English subtitles. There is also a Sakalava and French version of the film.
PLEASE NOTE: There are scenes of sharks being finned and killed.
