In 1970 artist Pieter Laurens Mol painted his work ‘Publicity for the Mind’ on the facade of his studio on the Spoorstraat in Breda. Unfortunately the text ‘All Happens Inside’ disappeared over the years. Inspired by this work Vicent de Boer worked on his tribute to Pieter Laurens.
47 years later the 'All Happens Inside' is back again as part of a special diptych that Vincent and his brother Guido has made. According to Vincent the double meaning is the attraction of the text. Is it about what is going on inside the building or is it all happening in your head?
Guido de Boer has been inspired by the local artist Pieter Laurens Mol with his work ‘Head Dope Dead Hope’. After making this mural we heard the story of two friends who fought against their alcohol addiction for almost 26 years. In 2016 one of them had an accident due to a psychosis and died a few days later after his fatal injury. The man lived in the room above the text which Guido has painted. The story gives the text ‘Head Dope Dead Hope’ an additional load.
