a series of tests with Softimage Lagoa Fluids in Softimage 2011.5 SAP
The renders are very basic, my interest was in finding out about how to tweak lagoa fluid sims. Mainly trying to get a good 'splash'.
Scene setup: an icecube (length 0.3) gets shot into a glass (radius 0.8, height 1.0) at 0.8 unit p/frame speed. The glass is filled with a standard 'Lagoa setup pouring liquid from volume' ICE-compound, the volume is a cylinder radius 0.7, height 0.5 filled once at frame and allowed to settle. Initial state set. 'Lagoa resolution to substeps' is disconnected, so i can manually set substeps independently of Sim Quality.
set colissiondata on the cube and the glass at default settings (all 0), on the floor (simple grid) static friction 25, no slip 10.
And oh, there's a 'delete particles by volume' box around it all.
I've then run the sim 12 times, each time varying parameters, which are shown at the bottom.
Parameters that do not change are:
simulation time varied between 10 hrs (for setup 01) to 5 hrs (for setup 12)
