About this short film:
A Swedish hacker discovers that his homemade program can track people who download and share child pornography online. The files are matched against Interpol’s list of child sexual abuse material, and are then linked to the user’s IP-address, internet service provider, country and sometimes even name and home address.
The proof is solid, and he gives it to the police. All they have to do is request the identities behind the IP-addresses and search the suspects’ houses – but nothing happens, child pornography is not a priority crime in Sweden, even though it is well known that over three quarters of all internet pedophiles personally abuse children themselves. THIS IS A TRUE STORY, and Swedish pedophiles are allowed to continue uninterrupted.
STHLM HUNTERS explores the moral dilemmas that arise when ordinary people decide to track down internet pedophiles to confront and expose them.
