Amy Whitley speaks about her experience rising through the ranks of UPS to become chief diversity and inclusion officer and shares advice about what it takes and how to be inclusive.
Amy Whitley retired in January 2016 as vice president of human resources and chief diversity and inclusion officer for UPS. In addition to creating policy, Whitley was the first diversity and inclusion officer for UPS, where she championed the company’s Diversity Steering Council for 10 years. She demonstrated her passion and energy for making a difference in the lives of UPS employees by leading in the creation of the UPS Women’s Leadership Development Program, which celebrated 10 years of success in October 2016. Whitley serves on the board of the Human Resources Leadership Forum, the Atlanta affiliate of the Human Resources Planning Society. Additionally, she served for five years on the board of OnBOARD, a Georgia organization seeking to influence public companies to further the advancement of women in the boardroom and executive positions. In 2016 Whitley joined the Brenau University Board of Trustees. She serves on the academic affairs committee.
