About Inferno Pilates
Inferno Pilates is a high intensity, low impact, interval-training, workout based on Pilates principles of breathing, centering, concentration, control, flow, and precision. While Inferno Pilates is usually performed in a room heated to 95 degrees Fahrenheit and 40% humidity, I am providing the same workout without the heat. It is a full-body workout designed to strengthen muscles, increase flexibility, and improve overall health. It is performed on a yoga mat, with low impact, aimed to protect your joints and muscles from the pounding of other exercises. The interval aspect of this workout helps keeps your heart rate up and allows you to engage in a great cardio/full-body workout. Inferno Pilates classes usually last an hour; we play music, I encourage people to dance, smile, encourage others near them, and most importantly, to have fun and run their own race.
About the Instructor
My name is Tyecia Powell; I go by “Ty” and I am originally from Baltimore. Go Ravens! By trade, I am an educator; I have experience teaching grades K-12, as well as expertise in training and supporting teachers and staff in the educational sector. I was introduced to fitness through my love of basketball. I played college basketball throughout my undergraduate years and continued to hone my passion for developing people through fitness by coaching in various levels. I’ve coached softball, track & field, and basketball from the high school to semi-pro level. This past year, I’ve been exploring, learning, and beginning to understand the importance of developing not only your physical health, but your mental health. I now see fitness and health from a holistic perspective. This past year, I had the privilege of becoming a Pilates Instructor under Gabriella Walters Inferno Pilates LLC. Whether I am teaching, coaching, facilitating, or training, I believe in building the mind, body, and soul in order to promote holistic wellness.
