In order to discover the usefulness/usability of the early prototype for MOTIV (see earlier videos or visit strangenative.com to get the background) I did a few user tests where I put others (musicians and non-musicians alike) in control of the instrument.
In this video, MOTIV allows David to control note velocity, and orchestral layering (the string section) based on the speed and magnitude of his gestures. The faster his right hand moves, the harder the notes are played. The more he moves his whole body (some funky moves employed here) the louder the string section becomes.
