This video shows some of the systems I created in our animation diagram to adjust animation at run-time, for the Ps4 game Horizon Zero Dawn.
The systems are usually based on variables provided by our awesome Gameplay programmers (camera angle or turn speed for instance).
My job was to use these variables together with layers, special nodes and custom expressions in Morpheme (from Natural Motion) to get the desired effect.
I also made all the animations seen in this video except the LongNeck's head (robot-plate at the beginning) and the NPCs jog cycles.
Make sure to check out my animation reel as well: vimeo.com/joco/hrzanimreel
Horizon Zero Dawn is a 3rd person Action-RPG. The main protagonist is Aloy, an agile huntress whose tribe survives in a post-apocalyptic world dominated by a robotic wildlife.
This video is for demoreel purpose only and is not representative of the final game quality (different render settings, custom camera and test levels where used).
