Cactus Pear Music Festival heads into its 3rd decade of presenting sizzling chamber music with world class musicians and and masterpieces of the repertoire, as well as new and little known gems. Its centerpiece is its summer music festival that takes place in San Antonio and surrounding Hill Country cities during the month of July. During the academic year, CPMF presents three intimate soirées that are typically held in elegant homes and occasionally, as seen here, at special venues like the Becker Vineyard in Stonewall, Texas, outside of San Antonio. The soirées come complete with a delectable buffet, fine wines and great music and, of course, exceptional company. With a Young Artists Program [YAP] now in its 14th year, young student musicians audition for this intense 3-week program, all tuition-free, where they study with the festival artists and Education Director and San Antonio Symphony violinist Craig Sorgi. The YAP program has mentored almost 90 serious-minded music students since its inception in 2004.
