Great leaders of sustainable organizations learn early on that people choose to follow instead of being told to do so its a choice they make based on who their leader is and how their leader treats them as individuals. With the right mix of charisma, intellect and humility a person can learn to lead in a balanced way being confident and yet approachable, smart and yet able to admit mistakes ultimately coming across as believable and human like everyone else. Letting the people around you know that you care for them holistically as a person day in and day out by the things you say and do will help them rise to the occasion. Motivating excellence through love draws the best out in people enabling them to perform at levels beyond their wildest dreams. Under such leadership, high performing teams come together much faster and are more willing to take informed risks that deliver better results on tighter time lines.
