- Accelerometer, mini projector, and 12x6 inch projection-screen attached to a tree branch
Description: I am in a room where three video surfaces react to my voice and physical location. The audience views my performance from chairs placed around the edges of the room. When I attempt to ride a pogo stick, a projected pogo stick figure follows my movements. When the I fall off the stick, I call out “Do over” and the figure on screen recalibrates to the center of the screen. With each “Do over” an image of many hands in the background becomes increasingly opaque. After a certain number of “do overs” the figure on screen disappears except for its hands. I continue to pogo, now having my movement mimicked by these disembodied hands. The hands disappear after another “do over” and a giant pretzel stick appears on screen. I then swing a large tree branch which makes the projected pretzel move in turn. When the artist says “more” the pretzel becomes composited with another handheld stick-like object (rain stick, slim jim, comb, ski, etc.). The artist keeps saying “more” causing more and more stick objects to composite in the screenspace.
