Luang Prabang in Lao PDR is a fragile UNESCO World Heritage town famous for the outstanding preservation of its cultural and natural assets. Increasing tourist numbers mean more income and opportunities for local communities, but also more waste putting pressure on nature. This clip is showing the long Journey of a Plastic Bag that often ends abruptly with a single usage. But there are simple waste solutions that you can do to reduce, reuse and recycle harmful plastic. The EU Switch Asia Luang Prabang Handle with Care project is implemented by GIZ and supports simple yet effective waste solutions such natural bamboo straws, refillable bottles and refill stations as well as organic packaging. Plastic harms our nature – be a mindful traveler and avoid plastic wherever you can! Support the sustainable consumption and production of tourism by joining us in avoiding plastic and sharing this video.
