A look at the cyclists on London's Blackfriars Bridge on an average mild, misty March morning.
Transport for London wish to increase the speed limit at the north end of the bridge from 20mph to 30mph and decrease the space available to cyclists by reducing the width of the cycle lanes and introducing another lane for vehicular traffic. Without these changes, they say, there will be massive tail-backs of cars..
As this video shows, not only do cyclists make up the majority of traffic on the bridge and therefore ought to be gaining more space, not less, there is also very little vehicular traffic anyway. This video was filmed between 8.30AM and 9AM on a Monday morning rush hour.
London cyclists deserve better!
