Over 72% of MS Patients are women between the ages 20-50. MS is an auto immune disease that attacks the nervous system. MS is called Multiple Sclerosis for the scarring that the disease causes.
The scarring is related to the breakdown of the insulation coating called Myelin exposing the nerves causing miss fires in the electrical signals in the brain. Heat sensitivity exacerbates the signal degradation of MS, so warm climates can hamper everyday activities and cause a major lifestyle changes.
MS Clients are defined as people with MS, families who have members with MS and care givers. Arizona chapter supports the MS community throughout the state and is part of a nationwide network in all 50 states. Public figures like Teri Garr, Phil Keegan and Cameron Parker of OLAY support the MS cause by raising awareness.
