Test with the Canon 5dmkii w/the 50mm f1.4 lens, on a Steadicam Merlin system with Arm and Vest.
Tutorial on my setup for this video here: vimeo.com/22064130
Canon 5dmkii w/50mm f1.4 (at f1.8)
1/50 Shutter Speed
Halfway through I run into the fridge, and you'll notice that the footage doesn't really show it at all. I've found the 5d with the merlin is an awesome combo, except for when you're outside and it's windy. Even then you'll probably do better than handheld, but it's a bit of a pain.
Get to know your gear is the main thing I've heard over and over and OVER again, so take a look at what you've got and make it work! MTS films here on vimeo do an awesome job with their 5d and steadicam rig (which is a glidecam 4000), because they've spent so much time and so much effort working to make their rig work for them. check em out, and prepare to be amazed: http://mtsfilms.com.au
Recorded flat: sharpness and contrast all the way down. saturation down 2 notches.
