live performance. ambient drone piece for modular synthesizer, monome arc + grid, keys, and effects. soaring, drifting, floating. cold crystals give way to warm sunlight.
an improvised melody is played into mutable instruments clouds, captured as a stream of grains generated by arc rotations, which is connected to ansible running cycles. that audio is then frozen, and arc is used to scroll through the buffer, before being sent to strymon delay and reverb pedals. mannequins just friends' cyclic envelopes constantly shift clouds' grain parameters, after being moderated by shades.
melodic sequences are played on the grid via earthsea: mannequins mangrove oscillator through three sisters filter, and then through isms’ spring reverb tank. gently tapping the ‘verb lends a touch of shimmer to the slow earthsea drones.
