From wrapping straw and tree bark around our feet to the evolution of hand tools used to shape leather around a shoe form, footwear as objects not only serve as a testament to our creative and storied human past, but a guide to our global and interconnected future as well. Inspired by one of the greatest archaeological finds of modern times, the Terracotta Army, Onto worked with local artist Lou Sarowsky to reincarnate the 'Kogi' sneaker as part of a collaborative installation available to view at 452 W. Broadway in New York City from May 4-8, 2017.
