exhibition by artist Julia Barton
An Talla Solais Gallery, Ullapool - May 13th to June18th
Neo Terra is the culmination of four year’s research and investigation into plastic marine/beach litter by artist Julia Barton, as part of the Littoral Art Project along the shorelines of both the North-West Highlands and Shetland Islands. The project was set up in 2013 to encourage people to take a new look at the scale, nature and consequences of this environmental issue and invites ideas and discussions as to what we can do to tackle it. Visitors are invited to use the interactive area to take a closer look at beach samples collected from the littoral zones of 60 North West Highland beaches and to help build up a record plastic particles found.
