America’s barren northern landscape is home to large herds of caribou. Every year caribou migrate between taiga and tundra. While ‘on the hoof’ caribou meet many risks. Yet every spring they start their mind boggling spectacle of mass-movement. The unspoilt wilderness of northern Canada forms the background for this film that focuses on the reasons why caribou migrate.
The film is the English spoken version of the Dutch "Kariboes, de jaarlijkse trek", an award winning documentary ('Supernova', Dutch national film contest NOVA 2016). The film won a 'medal of honour' in the World Movie Contest 2017 in Dortmund (Germany), August 5-12 2017.
