Forth is a public art installation commissioned by the University of Central Florida.
The installation employs computer simulation techniques, generative animation and programmatic sound generation techniques to create a dynamically changing immersive experience, with large-scale projection and spatial sound. The large projection generated in real-time depicts a stylized ocean scene populated by small boats containing groups of people. The behavior of the ocean is influenced by the local environmental conditions and by the presence and actions of the viewers in the atrium. Narratives emerge within each vessel as the people try to stay afloat and on course in turbulent waters. Heightening the richness of the experience is an immersive sound environment generated in real time which responds to the flow of visitors through the space and weather around the site.
