While I was working on a Gus Harper video for one of his showings, he mentioned he was heading to downtown LA later that day to work on a piece with another artist called Gronk. I was intrigued with how two painters would work together, so I asked him if I could shoot some footage of them working together, and a few moments of them alone to get an idea of how artists can collaborate on a single piece of art work. As a filmmaker, collaborating is just part of the process, largely because film making is both complicated and very tedious, as with most forms of artistic endeavors, and usually takes a team to accomplish it. But I had never thought about how two painters would work together for create a single painting. This is a little glimpse into that process, and I discovered that it can work, with very impressive results.
